We challenge our teens to own their faith in exciting ways that draws out their gifted-ness!  We encourage students to GROW in their walk with the Lord through engaging Sunday and Wednesday night lessons, and through consistent prayer.  We encourage them to SERVE...serve each other, serve in ministry, and serve their community by offering consistent opportunities throughout the year.  We challenge them to ENGAGE their culture, regardless of where they go to school or work, in order to share the Good News of Christ with their friends.

Week of service

During the week of June 10-14, the Youth Ministry at Grace will participate in a Week of Service. In lieu of a traditional mission trip, the last few years we have discovered ways to serve our community locally, while still working to foster some of the unique benefits found in by leaving town. We split the group into a number of teams, led by adult youth workers, and work on projects during the day. There is so much sincere community and relationship-building that happens when we serve and problem-solve together. In the evening, we return to church and enjoy a time of worship, tell stories about the day’s events and then fellowship with a family-style meal together. After dinner, host families from Grace take in 4-5 teens for the night, housing them, ministering to them, and giving them a place to lay their head after a busy day in the field. After feeding them breakfast the next morning, teens will be brought back to the church to begin a new day of service. This year, in particular, our goal is to focus on serving our friends in the Ageless Grace (Empty Nester) community at Grace and others in need with doing home visits and projects around their houses, as a way to encourage them, and develop some cross-generational relationships.

We still need some host homes for both boys and girls. We also need some volunteers to help prepare sack lunches for each work day, as well as help with evening meal prep. Please contact Wes Tarbox at wes@grace-efc.org or 214-215-4712 if you’re willing to consider serving in one or more of these areas, or if you’d like to get on board during the week and serve beside a group of teens. We will never turn away leaders who can be mentors to the next generation.

Sunday afternoons  4pm - 6pm is our 7th - 12th grade AWANA program

Middle School students (7th-8th grades) - AWANA Trek answers the questions youth are asking — literally! We asked hundreds of students, “What’s your biggest question about God and the Bible?” Trek takes these real questions from real students and answers them from the Bible in a relevant, engaging way.

High School students (9th-12th grades) - At AWANA Journey, through a deep study of God's Word, we will be working towards becoming lifelong disciples and learning to live with godly perspective and evident faith.
